Certificates
EM has been certified ISO9001 since March 1992 and QS9000 and VDA6.1 since March 1998. Currently, EM holds the following certifications:

Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER)
The EM Social and Environmental responsibility ("SER") - Principles of conduct ("Principles") outline standards to ensure that working conditions in EM facilities, and our Supply Chain partners' activities supporting EM's requirements, are safe, that workers are treated with respect and dignity, and that manufacturing processes utilized by EM and its partners are environmentally responsible.

New Part Numbering System
In order to simplify its ordering procedure, EM has decided to rename many of its standard products. Starting April 13, 2002, the new name (also called New Commercial Name or Part Number) is unique and will appear on all commercial documents such as datasheet, label, invoice and order confirmation. It is this new name which should be used to place new orders after April 13. Download the complete list (PDF, 92KB) of all EM products affected by this change: it contains the cross-reference list between the old and the new part number.
We strongly advise our customers to have a look at this document. Please note that this change does not affect at all the silicon nor the package marking, but it will affect the way parts are ordered from EM in a BOM.

Lead Free and Green Mold Policy
Various regulatory agencies and key groups have enacted or proposed limits that will restrict the amount of lead (Pb) and halogen containing compounds in the future. EM Microelectronic is working to insure that its products will meet the requirements of these groups and that they are RoHS compliant (lead-free, green mold package).
