Employment 1. Jobs in IC Design & Test Engineering
SENIOR TEST ENGINEER
in semiconductor industry (CMOS analog and mixed signal ICs)
You have at least 8 years of experience as Test Engineer (TE) or Product Engineer (PE) in a semiconductor company producing Integrated Circuits (CMOS) in large volumes.
You have an engineering degree in electronics and computer skills in high level languages as well as in automatic measuring and test techniques. You have become a “hands-on electronics engineer" by learning from experience.
You are a team player, with strong practical and trouble shooting capabilities.
You have a very good level in English (working language in the company, interfacing with outside test houses, customers and suppliers). Speaking French would be a plus, in order to be able to interface to on-site operators or administration.
This job is “wide spectrum": you need to have the capability to organize yourself and be able to share your time between different priorities.
At EM Microelectronic your mission will be twofold:
1) TE (Test Engineer):
You act from specification definition until the qualification of your mixed signal products and their transfer into production. The main missions are:
• To develop the test strategy in collaboration with the designers, you will define with them requirements for Design For Testability (DFT).
• To put in place the means of the validation, the characterization and the production test program for our testing facilities (Mainly “Eagle" Mixed Signal Testers, on-site and abroad). Therein you are in charge of defining loadboards used for the wafer- and package-level testers.
• You are in charge of determining the production and qualification test limits based on product specification and your measurements and to conduct/support the qualification of the products according to these limits (including Cp/Cpk analysis and reliability tests)
• Expertise in automotive quality requirements and/or ways to ensure “zero defect" in production is an asset.
2) PE (Product Engineer):
During mass production of your products the main missions are:
• To follow up and improve the yield in production (wafer- and package-level test), to analyze and take appropriate actions in case of yield fluctuations, also in collaboration with our on-site fab or subcontractor foundries.
• The job includes the transfer for high volume products and the associated test programs to our external testing facilities in the Far East.
• For your products you optimize the test programs (in course of test time reduction activities) to according to requests of the test floor.
• With the quality representatives, you act on customer returns. This may include interfacing to customers.

- Understand, test and improve customer or in-house board level systems.
- Provide technical answers and recommendations to customers on boards, IC, system functions.
- Contribute to the functional definition of future MCTRL products.
- Interact with BU's customers internationally and with all relevant internal groups (other BUs, sales force, remote design centers).
The key requirements of the position are:
- Engineering degree in EE/CE or Physics, 3 years+ of system and board experience
- Understanding of micro controller-based architectures and analog peripherals,
- Hands-on ability to analyse and measure board level systems in the lab
- Ability to interact with many internal and external groups, excellent written and verbal communication in English, French or German and knowledge of the other language (German, French).

Senior Design Engineer / Motion & Optical Sensing
Your responsibilities will include design and implementation of Analog/Digital converters for motion and optical sensing products (silicon microphones) in the future (14 and 16 bits converters integrated in “system on chip"). You will drive definition of these functions, development and design methodology. You will collaborate tightly with other business units engineers, our remote design centers and local groups.
The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree in electronics or physics and must be able to interact with many internal groups. The position requires at least 5 years of design experience in Analog/Digital conversion and mastery of Delta/Sigma architecture. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French or German and English are essential (knowledge of a third language is a plus).
